Senior Database Analyst 

Our client is looking for Senior Database Analyst that is a technical expert with strong business acumen and a passion for optimizing data processes.

This role will play a critical role in bridging our data infrastructure and business functions. This high-visibility position offers frequent interaction with top-level executives, including the CEO. Your work will directly impact data-driven decisions and company-wide efficiency, supporting our business objectives and growth.

Who You Are & What will you do

  • Cross-Department Collaboration:
    • Partner with various departments to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes, identifying areas for enhanced data support and efficiency.
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation of business processes and workflows to ensure accurate data management and usage.
    • Lead “train the trainer” sessions to improve data literacy and process understanding across departments.
    • Provide end-user IT support as needed.
  • ERP & Technical Liaison:
    • Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal business units and the ERP vendor, ensuring alignment and addressing both functional and technical requirements.
  • Database & Reporting Expertise:
    • Utilize advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills to manage and analyze data within the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and efficient workflows.
    • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-generated reports, Microsoft SSRS reports, and Power BI dashboards, tailoring them to meet evolving business needs.
  • Database Performance Optimization:
    • Regularly assess and optimize database performance, ensuring robust data structures, reduced downtime, and enhanced efficiency.
    • Implement performance tracking metrics and data hygiene practices, analyzing results to provide ongoing recommendations and improvements.
  • Data Quality & Governance:
    • Conduct ongoing assessments of data quality, promoting “data hygiene” and reliability.
    • Establish actionable plans to address data integrity challenges and enhance reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience & Skills:
    • 3+ years in relational database development and management, preferably with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes, from order entry to accounting.
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL design and programming within the Microsoft SQL Server environment.
    • Proven experience in building and maintaining Microsoft SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards.
    • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and data relationships within them.
    • Windows and active directory experience a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional communication and documentation abilities, capable of translating complex data insights into accessible, actionable information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
