The HT Group is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering, PE (Electrical) to establish and lead an engineering team as company operations expand. This role will be responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects of infrastructure projects in the utility sector, focusing on electrical engineering solutions. The Director will play a key role in building the engineering department from the ground up, ensuring the successful planning, design, and implementation of electrical systems for utility-related projects.
Location: Texas – Remote / Hybrid (Occasional in-office meetings in Dallas Metro Area)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering department, overseeing projects related to electrical infrastructure.
- Develop and implement engineering procedures, standards, and strategies to ensure quality and efficiency across projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Build and develop a team of engineers, providing mentorship and guidance for professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement in engineering solutions.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful outcomes for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Represent the organization in industry discussions and client-facing meetings.
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects. Experience in a leadership role is preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, including design and operation of substation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
- Experience managing complex utility-related projects.
- In-depth understanding of industry standards, including NESC, IEEE, and ANSI.
- Proficiency with engineering design software (e.g., PLS-CADD, GIS tools, or equivalent applications).
- Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
