The HT Group is seeking a VP of Business Development for a leading EPC company specializing in the electric energy sector. They deliver innovative and reliable solutions to manage infrastructure projects including transmission, distribution, and substations. They are experiencing significant growth and are seeking a dynamic and driven VP of Business Development to aggressively expand their market share in Texas,and drive revenue growth.
The VP of Business Development is a critical leadership role responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the electric energy sector. This is a “hunter” role, requiring a proactive, results-oriented individual with a proven track record of developing and closing large-scale EPC projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the electric energy market, strong relationships with key decision-makers, and a relentless drive to exceed sales targets.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve aggressive growth targets within the electric energy EPC market.
- Identify and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Target and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), developers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Lead the full sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and generate leads.
- Actively pursue and close large-scale EPC projects, consistently exceeding sales targets.
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and legal teams to develop proposals.
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market intelligence to senior management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development or sales within the electric energy EPC industry.
- Proven track record of successfully closing large-scale EPC projects.
- Strong network of relationships with key decision-makers in the electric energy sector.
- Deep understanding of the electric energy market, including transmission, distribution, substations, renewables, and energy storage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, and a proven “hunter” mentality.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
