Are you ready to staff for hyperautomation, blockchain, AI security, and distributed cloud in 2020? They’re among the top 10 strategic tech trends named by Gartner as driving significant disruption and opportunity over the next five to 10 years.
Many of these tech trends work together to have a profound impact on people and the spaces they inhabit, explains the report authors. “For example, artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of machine learning (ML) with hyperautomation and edge computing can be combined to enable highly integrated smart buildings and city spaces,” a Gartner contributor adds. The report goes on to explain that “physical environments including factories, offices and cities will become ‘smart spaces’ within which people will interact through multiple touchpoints and sensory channels for an increasingly ambient experience.
The top 10 strategic trends that made Gartner’s list are summed up here:
Knowing that the trends exist is one thing, being able to incorporate them into your business—and hire talent to fill strategic roles to drive them—are entirely different challenges. Many enterprises are already on their way, however. For example, Gartner predicts that, by 2022, at least 40% of new application development projects will have artificial intelligence co-developers on the team.
