HT Staffing’s First Annual Give Back Party Raises Over $11,400 for Dress For Success Austin

Through support of Co-Sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and more than 20 Austin-area businesses, non-profit furthers its mission to ensure economic independence of disadvantaged women

Austin, TX (March 19, 2013) – The results are in! HT Staffing, a total-solution staffing firm, with the help of Co-Sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, raised more than $11,400 for local non-profit Dress for Success Austin during their First Annual Give Back Party held on March 8 at the Russian House of Austin. More than 20 Austin-area corporate sponsors and individual donors supported both financially and with donated clothing such as suits, jackets and other business attire.

“Giving back to the community is a strong part of our corporate culture at HT Staffing. We are thrilled to have been able to raise money for Dress for Success Austin and having fun while doing it,” said Mark Turpin, partner and CEO, HT Staffing. “More than 250 of our colleagues and friends came out to support an organization with a mission that resonates with us—helping people in our community find great jobs.”

Dress for Success Austin is a non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.  Since the organization opened its doors in 2003, it has served over 5,000 disadvantaged women, empowering them in every aspect of their lives. The money raised by HT Staffing and its supporters is enough to help 54 women receive professional interview and employment attire through Dress for Success Austin’s suiting program, or to help nearly two dozen women receive career development services for one year.

“Dress for Success Austin extends a ‘hat’s off’ to HT Staffing for their efforts to help us continue our services to disadvantaged women in Central Texas,” said Judy Chambers, the organization’s executive director. “While best known for providing interview appropriate attire, Dress for Success has grown to now offer seven pre- and post-employment programs to help women-in-need move toward personal self-sufficiency and professional growth.  The fundraiser by HT Staffing will definitely make a difference in service offerings for disadvantaged women.”
