Job Summary:
The Director of Integration is key in overseeing the end-to-end integration of acquired companies into the organization. This individual will develop and execute integration strategies, ensuring seamless operational, cultural, and technological alignment while maximizing synergies and value realization. The role requires strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and change management skills to drive successful acquisition integration
Key Responsibilities:
1. Integration Strategy & Planning:
- Lead the development of integration playbooks and frameworks for acquired businesses.
- Define clear milestones, timelines, and success metrics for integration projects.
- Conduct pre-close planning and due diligence to identify risks and synergies.
2. Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with executives, functional leaders (HR, IT, Finance, Operations, RevOps), and acquired company leadership to align integration priorities.
- Ensure smooth transitions in areas such as systems, processes, policies, and workforce integration.
3. Project Execution & Governance:
- Oversee integration workstreams (technology, finance, HR, legal, compliance, branding).
- Monitor progress, resolve bottlenecks, and report on KPIs to senior leadership.
- Manage integration budgets and resource allocation.
4. Change Management & Cultural Alignment:
- Drive employee engagement and communication strategies to minimize disruption.
- Foster cultural assimilation while preserving key aspects of the acquired company’s identity.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Refine integration methodologies based on lessons learned.
- Identify and implement best practices for future M&A activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- 7+ years in M&A, corporate development, or post-merger integration.
- Proven track record of leading complex integrations (corporate or consulting background).
- Skills:
- Strong project/program management (PMP or Six Sigma a plus).
- Expertise in change management and stakeholder alignment.
- Financial acumen
- Excellent communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience in professional services or tech industry.
Success Metrics:
- On-time, on-budget integration delivery.
- Realization of projected synergies (cost savings, revenue growth).
- High employee retention/culture alignment post-integration.
