Ready to take your career to the next level in Solid Waste Management? We are partnering with a Solid Waste Management client in the Georgetown, Texas area in looking for a Director of Operations. Must have solid waste back ground with facility management experience and a valid Class C Drivers License as well as a safe driving record for the last 3 years. Plus a Class B MSW License or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In a collaborative process with HR, Safety and senior management, hire and train drivers, transfer station and collection staff of the assigned facility.
- Ensure drivers and operations staff complete each day’s work.
- Supervise hauling company drivers and conduct regular inspections on company vehicles.
- Coordinate with the central dispatch office.
- Coordinate with other departments including Safety, Maintenance, central dispatch and system managers to ensure the highest quality of service possible is being provided in a safe manner.
- Maintain key performance indicators for the facility, as applicable.
- Maintain a level of employment in accordance with workload in order to ensure quality service and safe productivity.
- Evaluate equipment quality and availability on a daily basis by communicating with the Maintenance Department.
- Regularly review route data and interact with drivers to ensure that TDS standards and policies are upheld.
- Conduct route observations and driver ride-alongs.
- Regularly interact with drivers and helpers (including monitoring by video, as applicable) to ensure they are working effectively and productively.
- Strive to ensure subordinate employees receive a performance evaluation at least annually.
- Comply with and ensure accountability for company policies and procedures related to all service standards and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor and control driver hours in order to limit labor expenditures and maintain Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) compliance.
- Review company fleet routing reports for accuracy.
- Review and/or investigate all accidents, and then collaborates with applicable senior management, if and as necessary.
- Attend all safety meetings.
- Regularly inspects company vehicles.
- Develop and maintain good relations with city and local communities and serve as the company’s liaison in matters concerning the city.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Ten years progressively responsible business management experience including, five years of experience managing site operations. Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for experience year for year.
- Experience managing exempt and non-exempt staff
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid waste facility management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, supply chain or other related field.
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Class C driver’s license
