Job Title: Level 2 Server Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Level 2 Server Administrator to support a complex IT infrastructure that includes Windows, Linux, and unified communication platforms. This role focuses on maintaining, optimizing, and securing a range of enterprise systems used across multiple departments in a public service-oriented environment. The contractor will troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring stability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure server hardware and software across mixed environments.
  • Manage and monitor both Windows and Linux server infrastructures.
  • Troubleshoot user-reported issues and those identified through monitoring systems.
  • Perform backups and implement disaster recovery and failover procedures.
  • Upgrade systems with new software and hardware releases as needed.
  • Implement access controls, firewall configurations, and other security best practices.
  • Analyze performance metrics and logs to detect and resolve server-related problems.
  • Maintain system documentation, policies, and internal knowledge base.
  • Train internal stakeholders on new system tools and updates.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Strong background in systems troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Experience supporting unified communication tools such as Microsoft Teams Calling.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues in a fast-paced IT setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Requirements
7 Years – Network infrastructure (physical and logical architecture)
7 Years – Server administration best practices and procedures
3 Years – Experience with Linux operating systems
3 Years – Experience with Windows operating systems
3 Years – Experience with Microsoft Teams Calling
3 Years – Analyzing server performance metrics and optimizing systems
3 Years – Log analysis and server issue troubleshooting

Preferred:
3 Years – Additional depth with Microsoft Teams Calling and collaboration platforms
