What You’ll Do
- Administer and maintain IMS databases across development, test, and production environments.
- Conduct performance monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery activities to ensure system stability.
- Provide hands-on support for IMS database-related application issues, working closely with developers.
- Assist with DBRC issues, database reorgs, and point-in-time recoveries.
- Support mainframe software upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and batch job scheduling.
- Collaborate with application development teams to enhance database structures and ensure smooth deployments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex JCL, COBOL, CICS, and VSAM issues.
- Provide after-hours support for nightly batch processing and production job runs.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience with z/OS Systems platform and mainframe administration.
- 5+ years of hands-on IMS database administration, including DBRC forward recoveries.
- Strong expertise in TSO, SDSF, JCL, VSAM, and IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEFBR14).
- Experience with CICS, COBOL, IMS programming, and debugging complex JCL.
- Ability to analyze and debug REXX programs in a z/OS environment.
- Working knowledge of IMS HAL databases and IMS Catalog.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Top Secret security administration.
- Experience maintaining mainframe printer assignments and IPPrintway.
- Knowledge of batch SFTP, FTPS processing, and Informatica Power Exchange.
- Experience with logically related IMS application databases.
