The HT Group is currently seeking a Metal Spinner for a growing manufacturing entity near Terre Haute, IN (onsite). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manual spin forming of metal components, particularly nickel-based alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy, etc.), and a strong background in using precision measuring tools.
Employment Type: Full-time, 4 days onsite
Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000 annually
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing teams to exchange technical information and design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts.
- Plan the spinning process by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Verify machine settings, inspect first-run parts, and sample workpieces to ensure they meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform adjustments or repairs as necessary.
- Use precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers to inspect finished units and ensure they meet required specifications.
- Maintain and clean machines, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Complete production and quality logs and adhere to safety regulations.
- Set up and operate spinning lathe to shape metal articles from sheet or plate metal, applying knowledge of material properties and machine settings.
- Perform all tasks involved in the manual spinning process, from securing materials to shaping the metal using specialized tools and varying pressure based on material and machine settings
Requirements:
- Proven experience in manual metal spinning, especially with nickel-based alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy).
- Proficiency in the use of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, etc.).
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
- Must adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
