WORK DESCRIPTION:
The Team Project Lead (PL) supports project management reporting and data management by coordinating data supplied to finance, accounting, executives, management, project team, contract managers, project managers and other stakeholders. The PL is essential in tracking and coordinating new project requests off rotation lists with contract management and project management. The PL is essential with assisting with the tracking and assignment of work order and purchase order requests. The PL also helps maintain complex spreadsheets, smartsheets, sharepoint sites, and dashboards to coordinate information across multiple departments and stakeholders. The PL maintains, analyses, and updates complex spreadsheets and databases to support project management processes and financial reporting. The PL reviews documentation and funding information for accuracy. The candidate must also exhibit demonstrated success in communicating and working with vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams.

Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage project reporting by working closely with the team to collect timely updates from the project team and incorporate this data into concise reporting system to keep stakeholders informed of the risks, schedule, budget and current escalation items needed for each project.
  • Data Management: Work closely with the team to implement tools and technologies for data management and assist in maintaining project records while ensuring alignment with governance, quality, and security standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, track and coordinate new project requests off rotation and engineering services contract lists. Review documentation and funding information for accuracy.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Excel Mastery: Utilize advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, data modeling, etc.) to analyze and present financial data. Maintain, update complex spreadsheets and database to support project management reporting.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with the teams to communicate project progress, challenges, and insights. Assist in keeping stakeholders informed by maximizing the use of data visualization technology/tools.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving financial processes, reporting workflows / tools, and Excel-based models.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate resources and with personnel across departments to meet project objectives and foster a collaborative work environment.

The role requires a strong focus on data management, financial analysis, and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.

WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS (Required)

Minimum (Required):Years Skills/Experience:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Management, Engineering, computer science, data management or related field.
Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis: 4-7 years.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including but not limited to pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling, and VBA/macros): 4-7 years.
Extensive problem solving and attention to detail experience: 4-7 years.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau: 4-7 years.
Experience working with financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis: 4-7 years.
Experience working as a project manager, lead, coordinator, finance analysis and / or data analysis role: 4-7 years.
Experience demonstrating application of project management software / tools including data visualization: 4 -7 years. 

Preferred (Optional):
Years Skills/Experience:
Experience working with remote teams: 3 years.
Experience with utility business practices and relevant business needs: 3 years.
Experience with project management techniques, schedule, budget, WBS (work breakdown structure) development, and coordination of people and resources: 3 years.
Proficient in presenting to multiple levels within an organization with the ability to explain complex data in simple terms: 3 years.
Professional certification (PMP, CFA, CPA, etc.) is a plus.
