The HT Group has a client that is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Procurement Manager to oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials for structural design and interior finishes in residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience working with builders and vendors, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and material specifications. This role requires occasional travel to China, approximately 3 times a year, to manage supplier relationships and ensure quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase for at least 100 homes per year for a production builder
  • Experience with resources in the wholesale market
  • Manage procurement processes for residential construction projects, ensuring timely sourcing and delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with builders and vendors to negotiate contracts and pricing agreements.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Coordinate logistics and shipment schedules to meet project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in construction materials.
  • Work closely with project managers and design teams to select materials that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Monitor budgetary constraints and ensure cost-effective procurement practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the residential construction sector.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Strong understanding of materials used in structural design and interior finishes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to China approximately 3 times a year. Passport must be up to date. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently when necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and procurement software.
