Our industry leading client is seeking a Senior Process Optimization Engineer to drive performance improvements and operational excellence within a high-performing Olefins operations team. This strategic role is based at a key production facility in Baytown, TX, and plays a critical part in maximizing profitability, efficiency, and reliability across the ethylene units.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead continuous optimization efforts across ethylene cracker units, identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency, throughput, and profitability.
• Serve as the site-level subject matter expert (SME) on Olefins operations, providing deep technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Develop, maintain, and apply process models and analytical tools to assess performance gaps and unlock improvement opportunities.
• Monitor plant operations against process constraints; challenge and redefine those constraints when data indicates performance potential.
• Partner with reliability and maintenance teams to proactively assess equipment health and recommend strategies that improve both uptime and economic performance.
• Perform detailed process and economic analyses to support day-to-day decisions and long-term strategy.
• Contribute technical leadership to capital projects, debottlenecking efforts, and site-wide performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related
• Extensive experience in the petrochemical or refining industry
• Background in the chemical manufacturing industry (preferred)
• Olefins experience, including direct work with multiple cracker units (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with process modeling and simulation tools (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated success in process optimization and delivering measurable operational improvements
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to influence across disciplines and levels
